I don't have the 4/87 issue of MRG, so don't know which series of car you are looking at, but the Summer 1992 issue of Northwestern Lines has several photos of various cars. From what I can

Fred - I've been working on a project to do a number of cars with Van Dorn ends. They were used on at least 4 different cars circa 1912 but only one road used them in any quantity - an IC 1-1/2 door

List,
Have the unusual Van Dorn patent car ends ever been made available in HO? The ends are the ones that resemble a bullseye target. Also, when were these last seen in service? Thanks to

Re: PFE R-40-10 in original colours
Thanks Tony
I wasn't looking for any great precision, just to figure out the reasonable
probability of them showing up, at what levels
"Many" of a fleet the size of the R-40-10's is good enough

Re: Canadian Freight Car Service rules
Brian,
Assuming that its cars were built in Canada, yes, they would be subject to the same rules. The TH&B was a Canadian railway, even if half owned by a US one.

Canadian Freight Car Service rules
All the recent discussion on the rules involving Canadian freight cars has
brought a question to my mind. The TH&B was owned 50-50 by the NYC and CP.
Were the TH&B boxcars subject to the same rules

CGW ARA boxcars
Did the CGW ARA boxcars have vertical hand brake or a horizontal hand brake?
I can't tell from the photo in the April 1987 issue of Model Railroading.

Re: reverse Murphy ends
That's a bit premature. C&O was still using inverse corrugated ends through the mid-1920s, and there are other occasional examples.

Richard,
I fully understand the "just stock me up" situation. Fortunately we do a
lot of special orders and stock the shop like we are modelers, oh yeah, we
are!!! We also happen to have a lot
