I don't know what made the AB-1-B brake system different from a
standard AB, but I don't believe it involved a separate signal
line. Other photos of Pacemaker cars coupled up to sister cars
hose.

Just out of curiosity, if the molds are made of cast steel, and you are pouring molten iron into them, which should have the same melting point, what keeps the inner walls of the molds from melting

The GN cars are tall 1925 ARA box cars. While I have not studied the NP cars, I would be that they are double sheathed versions of the 1937 AAR box cars. That certainly fits with the visible

There are other differences, too; the GN has drop grabs on the side, vs
bracket grabs on the NP.

I believe two different NP cars are being discussed. There was a DS car
built in the 20s that is modeled by a Sunshine kit which sounds like the one
described by Manfred. There is also a DS car
