I've had good luck simply using chalks. I'm about to start trying
Bragdon's weathering system which looks like but isn't chalks.

I'm interested to see if there are any WRX or AW refrigerator cars in that mix. The AW cars would be in the 3000 series and would show up from 1947-1952. I have a photo of one of these "home road"

Thanks for the feedback on the deficiencies of the Accurail NP
outside brace boxcars. The only photos I had were the ones in the NP
Equipment Color book and they don't show the roof
