The RTR vs kits is not the issue here. The issue is do I want to spend
many hours assembling a difficult kit, or buy an RTR and spend that
time doing wiring, scenery, etc. Of course, buying RTR

I've ruined a few too but probably more of the old Athearn type with
molded on details trying to make them something they weren't - well
engineered accurate models. I resent having to take a chance
