This won't answer your question, but you may find it of interest.
The Monon had some composite hoppers almost identical to those operated
by the NKP. I never saw them run, but found one that

You're right that the Ertl trucks represent AAR self-saligning spring-plankless trucks (as do most of the other HO scale trucks that are commonly, though incorrectly, called "Bettendorf" trucks).

Ertl trucks
I recently picked up a few dozen Ertl trucks as part of a package deal.
These trucks look like ARA/AAR Standard U-section trucks shown in RPC 4.
They may also be the self aligning variety of the ARA
