I had a chance to read Ted's last two articles in Craftsman today. I like to look though the Landmesser freight car list and keep track of magazine photos of cars from the list.

color uniformity from paint manufacturers
What makes anyone think that freight car paint didn't vary in color
from batch to batch from a specific manufacturer? I am thinking of 2
colors, freight car red (iron oxide red) and black.

Re: Improved Dreadnaught Ends
I dunno... I kinda like the old "dartnot" since it conveyed something
about the design. How about "Garksnot" or "Urksnot" for this new end?

Re: Outlander freight cars in the most unusual places
Ted has said it so well I have nothing to add, except to assure Blair that,
indeed, no offense was intended. I'd be elated if I never saw another word
on this list about N&W hoppers on Sherman Hill.
