Re: HO Truck ID?
Thanks to a kind soul here on the list, I was reminded of Richard Hendrickson's treatise on HO Trucks. Man, we all miss that guy.

What “official” reference are you using to refer to a 1953/54 date for the color change on Southern freight equipment? I have looked at thousands of SRS documents and drawings and never (!) seen

Re: Photo: SP Flat Car(s) Transformer(s)
Two observations:
1. Note the shiplap decking on 43595, as opposed to the square-cut lumber we saw being used on the Southern flat being resurfaced.
2. Were transformers like this being manufactured

HO Truck ID?
I came across in my stash a half dozen pair of these. They look better in person, but I can't figure out what they might represent. 5 springs and some big-ass journals, 6"x11", so maybe in the 70 ton

One of the clinics during the virtual PRR day meeting was on transformers, by Rob Bennett. One thing I learned from Rob is that there was usually a transformer for each phase. I sent the photo to Rob

Upon closer examination I think you are correct - Re-writing:
These are two nearly-identical transformers on TWO different SP 70-ton(ish) SP Flat cars:
