When I said they were "essentially identical" to the Rutland
cars, that's part of what I meant: 8-6 ends as opposed to the 7-7
more typical of the NYC design.

The C&NW (as opposed to NWX) had reefers built to the USRA reefer
design. These were exact copies AFAIK. The M&StL bought some of
these, stripped them to the underframe and built USRA DS box cars

that used National trucks. Be aware, however, that my diagram set stops
