Probably not. Double deck cars were developed mainly to increase the loading of short livestock, mostly
sheep and hogs, since they didn't need the headroom.

In case no one has mentioned it, the Santa Fe society had a two part article on Livestock operations on the ATSF in the 3rd and 4th quarter, 2001, The Warbonnet. Both are still available

The Hagley museum also has a huge collection of marine information. I wrote
to confirm that they do indeed have the drawings for a couple of the DL&W
and (I think) Erie ferryboats, which they do. I
