Etched ladder stiles

Re: Etched ladder stiles
Sunshine SP B-50-13 and 14 boxcars have etched ladder stiles as part of the
kit and there a bitch to build---but look nice when done. Just the hole for
the rung is etched, no bolt detail.

Etched detail parts (was Modeling Brake Systems with Wire)
While we're at it, I'd like to see etched ladder stiles (? - the vertical
parts), so I can better model those ladders with drop style rungs/grabs.
Too many cast/molded boxcar ends have the stiles

Excellent idea. Actually, you could etch the clevis and

Re: Modeling Brake Systems with Wire
One of the problems with scale chain is that the links are circular, unlike real chain.
I have modified some scale chain by pulling it through a tapered hole, using lots of beeswax for lubricant.

Clover House Lettering
Dear Earl
Since I don't have Russ Clover's catalogue, I may be working from dated information, but I have a number of his lettering sets in O scale (I don't know if he did any in S); or is it possible

Re: Modeling Brake Systems with Wire
I have talked to one etched brass person about doing the brake system chain in photo etch. All we need is the proper profile, as it nor seen from the top or bottom.

Re: UTLX lettering colour
This may be one of those questions that can't be definitively answered, but
did UTLX always use yellow paint for lettering? I'm still back dating my
