Here's some data from "Machinery's Handbook, OF Edition" (=Olde Farte, actually it's too new for the timeframe of this forum, but not by much):

Ted Culotta asked:
Well, the smallest rivet shown in the Steel Manual is a 1/2" rivet, which
has a 7/8" diameter head. With a plate thickness of (probably) 1/4", that'd

There is a Overland chicken car, #1748633160, for sale on ebay. Just
out of curiosity did Overland sell them this way or are the whole insides

Could have been export units.
When I lived in Charleston, SC in the mid 60's we saw some of
this traffic. More in the 70's and 80's.

While I relize that this isn't relevant to the timeframe of the list, I
thought I would pass this on to everybody as the same concept could be
used for an earlier era. I just got back for shopping

So how about brake tests?
(Though I'll admit I subscribe to the N Scale Data Upside Down and Backwards Theory)
Lately I saw a 50's photo where the brake reservoir had a fresh overpaint and re-stencil
