More SP gons
The mill gon emails got me looking at my 1957 CBC. There is an SP gon pictured on pg. 173. Numbered 160754, built 12/51, it has fixed ends, and its length is stated in the caption as 48 ft. 6 in. I

OK, Richard, send them over. I think I also remember seeing that Tony T.
will be doing a clinic on these cars at the SPHTS convention, which I plan
on attending.
Thanks,

Re: SP Mill Gondolas
Tell you what, Jay. If you'll post them to the STMFC archives, I'll send
you JPEGs of the photos I have. That way, anyone who wants to see them
(e.g., Shawn Beckert) can do so.

That's interesting information for a couple of reasons, Clark. The unequal
capacity of the two compartments suggests that SVX 200 was a former single

Thanks Bruce, I will weather the car and add some detail. I just hadn't
built any 'shake the box' kits in a long time.

If anyone is interested, I can post excerpts from the few conductor books
that I have. They feature ATSF passenger trains through Ft. Madison, Iowa;
1943 Seaboard trains through Charleston, S.C.

Dave,
I know you mean that humorously, but the car in that photo is nearly 30 years
old and as Byron has pointed out, the wood on the car sides looked like that
only at the very end of their lives,
