Mort Mann was induced to import these models by some SPFs who didn't know
(and didn't care) that they were perfectly standard 8K gallon AC&F Type
11s, built by the hundreds from 1911 through WW I.

What's different about 'em? A lot of late archbars had metal bolsters

Other than the PRR, can these cars be used to repersent any other
type/class of tank cars?
If only PRR had these, would there be any reason they

Tim is correct about both origin and date. The NP also bought a bunch of
second hand DT&I round-roof auto cars and some PRR X37 double door cars at
about the same time.

Somebody said the rebuilds could include Erie as well as DL&W cars, I think.

Sounds reasonable. If they are rebuilds, they look very close to the Red Caboose Seaboard cars. Certainly
