Thank you very much for sharing this work and I very much appreciate the added notations about models of the cars! It really provides a view of how diverse rolling stock moving on the NYC was.

This has to be the first consist with a PLE car hauling coconuts posted and it was bound for Kankakee, no less.

old Westerfield kits on Ebay
Al and Patricia Westerfield <westerfield@...>
Patricia likes to troll EBay occasionally to see if prices for our kits are increasing now that we're no longer taking orders. Most of the ones offered now are made from the old, fragile material. I've contacted all of the sellers to suggest that the descriptions be amended to warn potential bidder. I've said this before but it bears repeating: 1) if the end label says Elk Grove Village its old resin; 2) if the kit number is above 3702 it's new resin; and 3) if the number is 3702 and below and the kit box lacks the Westerfield logo it is probably old resin. Caveat emptor. - Al Westerfield

Re: covered gondola help
Larry Kline
Maybe we should change the subject line here but i haven't.
Responding to Chuck Yungkurth's and other earlier posts, the PRR called the "erection drawing" the "general arrangement" drawing. The freight car general arrangement drawings that I have do not include any brake system information. The PRR microfilmed these drawings and they are available for numerous car classes from the PRRT&HS See: http://www.prrths.com/Lewistown%20Archives/PRR_Microfilm.html A list of the available freight car general arrangement drawings can be found at: http://www.prrths.com/Lewistown%20Archives/02%20Frt%20Car%20Gen%20Arrt,%20Rev.%202006-02-07.pdf There were also PRR "brake arrangement" drawings for the car classes. If a car was built before AB brakes were adopted there are (at least) two brake arrangement drawigs a K or KD drawing and an AB drawing that superseded the K or KD drawing. The numbers for the brake arrangement drawings, and the many other drawings for a specific car class can be found on the list of tracings for each car class. See: http://www.prrths.com/Lewistown%20Archives/01%20Microfilm%20Drawing%20Ordering%20Information%20Rev.%202006-02-07.pdf All of the PRR freight car "brake arrangement" drawings the I have show a top view looking at the brake system from above, a side view below the top view, and various other views which differ from car to car. The other views sometimes show hand brake arrangements and/or other brake arrangement details. I have a few WM hopper car general arrangement and brake arrangement drawings that are similar in content to the PRR drawings. Larry Kline Pittsburgh, PA PRRH&HS volunteer for 11 years
