Whether silicone sealants have SUFFICIENT adhesion is a matter of disagreement. I for one would not use them as adhesives.

Whatever you do, don't use "silicon" -- it's a crystalline element with no adhesive properties.

IF I ever find a valid number for a plain GATX tank. I'm not interested in any tanks with billboard lettering or circus colors.

And, John, when blowing the image up a LOT, I note above the lower corner braces, what looks like a bolt or something, which I’d guess to be the end of a transverse rod to hold the car sides
