Re: Don't be chicken
Oh, THANKS, Denny. I was wrong about Ambroid = Mainline. I was thinking of
Northeastern, and I know that those two lines are equivalent, because
Northeastern made the Ambroid kits for them.

Re: Don't be chicken
I do not believe that Mainline produced a poultry car kit, and if it did, I would presume that it is as truly out of scale as the rest of the line. The size seems to be closer to 00 or even S scale.

Bruce, I’ve been thinking along the same lines. I have (I thought) just finished weathering a Tangent gon . . . but looking at those two gons five tracks over says to me “Nope, not done yet.”

Jim,

Many years ago MR had plans for a poultry car. I'm thinking it was in the 1960s, maybe 1950s. have spent the last couple of hours looking for my copy of it, to no avail.

There is a great broadside of PPKX 5064 onpage 59 of the new Focus on Freight Cars Volume 10. The photo is not dated andI don’t see a clear reweigh date, but the car was built in 1924.
