Re: Evidence for loading SFRD reefers on the SP
I understand this situation in the west for full reefer trains headed east. However, by the time those cars got a place like Kansas City, and they got into manifest freights, what would you expect?

What Tony said is essentially correct. What you have are exceptions. I've researched this issue for nearly ten years and, with the exception of the early years of World War II through about 1947,

If you model a produce loading area in California, it's unlikely you'd
see SFRD reefers being loaded on the SP (and vice-versa). But if you model

Frustrations with Sunshine's Kit #104-2 NJI&I 3000 series
#104-2
I have done my share of dealing with mismatched parts but I think
this kit takes the cake. Further the prototype had a radial roof but
the modeler gets a pair of ends intended for a peaked roof

Northern Pacific 36-foot box car question
I recently finished a Funaro & Camerlengo resin kit for a Northern Pacific, 36-foot, double-sheathed box car with fish belly side sills. The kit notes the prototype cars were built in 1906 by Standard

Slight correction.the Stove Polish article appeared in the April, 1954
issue.
Now Floquil is no more. I think the name comes from the original basis for
the line.ink, not paint!!!
