I will chime in as Rob Adams is in Asia for two weeks. Rob has taken over the Steam Era Freight Car website founded by Ted Culotta several years ago. I have to believe what you are talking about,

Yet, the Hotel sold out of rooms at the special rate. They tried very hard to sell me a room at $165 a night. If I couldn't have found a less expensive hotel, that would have meant driving home

Charlie, and all:
I'd be willing to coordinate a blog dedicated to detailed modeling of steam era rolling stock. Not sure how the mechanics would work, but if you're interested in discussing it please

Re: Establishing Tank car top and bottom locations
Jared,
Is this the same thing as a Center Square advertised in Micro-Mark's latest catalog on page 17 (items # 82285 and 82280 )?

It was a rather vague question at that, and I apologize for not having thought it clearly through. What I was really trying to get at was whether the Oscar Mayer cars were identical to the other 1953

You can do this more easily using a center finder. It has an angle that sits on top of the cylinder with a straight edge that goes down across the cylinder and bisects it so you can mark the center

All the cars mentioned sound similar to the Q'Craft single sheathed auto box which had single sheathed ends. Plans for that car appeared in one of the CBCs.
