Yes NKP rebuilt some (goal was 100 cars, not sure if all were done) war emergency cars into this configuration in 1964. beyond the end of this list.

Found this interesting car on line.

Re: [Non-DoD Source] [RealSTMFC] CIM Container Gondola 15001
Folks;
I cannot enlarge, but this interesting car, which I have other photos of, appears to have a rebuild date of July 1960. Is that correct? Does anyone have any idea what service it was

Re: ASM Chrysler trucks (was WP Boxcar 20807)
Johannes,
Someone selling beautiful trucks might want to consider the option of selling them with better looking wheels 😉 Just suggesting... if Tahoe can do it, other folks can as well. If we don't

Hello Bruce,
I would think that Intermountain wheel sets would fit nicely, e. g. (Or just email Mr Davis and ask for axle length.)
For someone considering to spend $40 for a pair of freight car

Re: Kingan packing
Or maybe not. Gene Green's Reefer Color Guide, p.49, has three photos of GATC reefers with KGNX reporting marks, all with billboard Kingan lettering. The photos are dated 1954, 1955, and August 1956.

It's a low res scan from Ted Culotta, and that's the date he gave it. Ask Ted.
I've attached another Tedscan of a Rock Island car - You can clearly read "-52"

Re: Kingan packing
I meant to say since most meat from the Midwest was shipped east, I would guess those branch houses were all located in the east.
And I agree with Tony regarding other commodities in meat reefers.

Don't assume that Hygrade's purchase of Kingan meant the Kingan brand immediately went away. Many brands have value in themselves. Many companies operated the "legacy" brands long after a buyout.

Brian,
Reviewing the whole thread, I can see that 1957 is your "error". :-)
These would be appropriate if you didn't model that error, and instead chose an earlier time period. lol.
