Sirs,
When did this engine (D&H RS11) came into service in this paintscheme?

And again........did it also travelled with U.P.

Re: ERIE PS-1 box car?
Gene,
Jan. 26, 1948 isn't too early for PS-1s as the earliest were built June
1947. However, Erie 84313 wasn't a PS-1 in 1948. The 4/51 ORER lists
series 84000-84308 (123 cars), then in 1/52 dwindled

One survives at Benwood, WV, and there are no doubt others.

Re: ERIE's 15000-15249 65'-6" gondolas
I guess it makes sense that longer gondolas might have to be narrower
for reasons of clearance.
As far as kit-bashing the Erie gon from the Athearn or P2K model, that
just doesn't seem practical.

ERIE PS-1 box car?
ERIE box car 84313 looks like a PS-1 with a 6' wide Youngstown door.
Can anyone confirm or refute? I have a record of ERIE XM 84131 (from
series 84000-84314) being on the M&StL on January 26, 1948

Red Ball had a pretty nice mill gon with the ribs very far apart.
The size of the ribs is pretty small, particularly compared to the
Athearn car which has rivets the size of Ho scale tennis balls.

Aside from the over-representation of leased-from-N&W H-2A's, what

You're right about that bogus car number. Per Ken Soroos in the Oct. 1983 issue of The Soo mag., these Type 5 cars in 1950 were rebuilt and re-numbered 100 - 144. I have a photo of a pre-fifties
