All the waycars (cabooses) were listed as such in one all-inclusive number series block which included the conversions.

Yesterday, to keep everything straight, I went to Harbor Freight and got one of those 40 bin organizers (sku 94375). They hang on the wall. I spent some time labeling and now I have a truck cabinet.

Ice!? This is indeed puzzling. Surely Tom Madden from Boulder, CO, knows

projectors etc I checked a bird bath and found a circular ice flow/ice berg
about 1/4" thick floating in it...Now, to give everyone a warm...uh... a
feeling of security and well being with regard to climate change in the
warmer direction... this has not happened in the last 40 yrs...although in
the great Christmas freeze of 1989 it would have if I had been stupid enough
to venture outside to put water in one.

As everyone knows, political comments on the STMFC are not permitted and so
the following is not one and I warn everyone to avoid such. Nevertheless, on
one morning when I went to the car, parked way out in the parking lot, wind
blowing right into me from the NW, God alone knows what the wind chill was,
only the grace of God kept someone from stopping me to warn me about "global
warming".

And, now back to frt cars.

For Schuyler or anyone else that knows--What is a model paint mix that matches the DL&W boxcars in the as-built scheme offered at http://www.erielack.org/? Lacking any other info, I am assuming that it is a good match to the prototype.

Dalman One-Level trucks

A couple of years ago at Naperville, I purchased some trucks from "Sunshine" labeled Dalman One Level. I don't know if Martin offers these through the mail. He said these were imported years ago by someone which he in turn purchased when they did not sell.

I don't know if he still offers them.

We're still at the Hilton and will drive over to the gulf coast later today. Just took some luggage out to our rental car, which was parked close-in to the hotel. The rear window was completely iced over. Mike, aren't there any zoning laws against this??

It was a great gathering and the models on display were superb: great
passenger cars, freight cars plus both steam-diesel-turbines and some
buildings and trestles. I think next year I will bring my earliest resin
kit to show some improvement in my skills since 1986. Monty Switzer used
the dark and light paint line technique over the rivet lines on boxcars to
great advantage. Bruce Smith had only the second largest collection of
belpaire boilers on display! The presentations had a broad scope and Bill
Darnaby's wonderful presentation on scenery left the ice modeling to Mike
Brock. A wonderful way to avoid the icy jail cell. Okay, i was in my
shorts all the time anyway and missed any and all ice buildups.
Wonderful job, one and all....yes, Greg Martin, my zona saw is thawing out
as i type this...is it easier to saw frozen plastic or do i keep the saw
frozen and thaw out the plastic for the shake n take clinic? Steve Orth's
clinic on upgrading Atheran UP 4-8-4s covered so many detail changes, i
could have sworn he did 3 of those big FEFs.

I've attached my list of Dalman 2-level users.

As far as I've learned, CN's purchases of Dalman 2-level trucks seems to
have been limited to cars built in 1929. After that, for a few years, CN was
buying 1-level Dalmans and Symington increased spring capacity trucks. In
all cases, these trucks had the Barber Lateral Motion devices.

Principle info I have for the above CN cars is Stafford Swain's box car
article in June 1994 Railmodel Journal and his reefer article in June 2001
RMC.

Wish that there were enough people wanting a 1-level Dalman,

For what it's worth (probably not much), I'd really like to have
Dalman 1-level trucks, as thousands of Santa Fe cars built ca. 1930
had them (and, of course, cars built around that period for many
other RRs as well.)

Bill is...as usual, very perceptive. I will note, however, that when I asked
Bill if he was going out to lunch on Sat, his face had a quizzical look on
