Reading XMv
mopacfirst
Can anybody enlighten me about the Reading XMv cars, specifically the ones rebuilt? Reference the F&C kit 8391, which I just bought.
It looks like the PRR X28 in dimensions, in other words a taller car than the X29. I don't have a Reading book and haven't found a good photo online yet of the "rebuilt", certainly repainted, cars. Ron Merrick

Re: PRR container DD1A color
Chuck Cover
Lester,
I either give some containers a different FCC or at least weather some differently than others. They were moved around and did not always stay in a group. I’ll let others comment on the “correct” FCC. Depending up the era that you model, there is will a multitude of opinions.

PRR container DD1A color
Lester Breuer
I am about to move a resin Funaro & Camerlengo container Flat Car kit 8120 to the paint shop. The instructions for the car body state Scalecoat PRR Freight Red, a red moving toward maroon, to my eyes when viewing paint chips. I am guessing containers, DD1A, the same color. Is this correct?

I use Windows Live email if I click on 'reply to sender' I get a pop up that wants me to 'add an account'. So I go to the group site, write my email then select "Private" in the lower right corner, then send in the lower left.

It's a shame everyone isn't as sharp as Tim and Nelson. Many of us aren't very computer savvy hence the several requests for the information. We have many levels of modeling skills here and that also applies to computer/email stuff too. Come on guys, lets accept others are less talented or smart and just chill. I personally hate being talked down to by members. Every group has at least one Mr. Control Freak and I guess we have two?

What I have to be careful about is that when I receive something that looks like a private communication and then reply, finding out that my message is going out to the group. Please do as Tim says and I will try to make a habit of checking where my reply is going. Jack Wyatt
