EJ&E twin hoppers
You are correct, Tim. My info came from the RPI site. I may have misread it or their info is incorrect. Maybe 1953 was the rebuild year for the ribs? There was info sometime back on the EJ&E photo and

These cars were actually built as offset hoppers in 1953 series 41000-41699. Don't know when they were rebuilt to ribside twins. Rich Christie

Rob Manley
I echoed my sentiments about the loss of Rob on the Illinois Central group. I was fortunate to meet and talk with him at many train shows both here in Wisconsin and Illinois. It was always a pleasure.

I am so sorry to hear of Bills passing. I know Bill put up a good fight. His modeling talent is on the highest plateau, in my book. He will always be an influence to all of us. My prayers go out to Bi

NYC 19000 series caboose color
Dave, The only one listed is TCP-221 NYC Freight Car Red 1945-1960. I am not sure if this shade deviated much from your time period. I am sure there are others who will provide a more precise match. R

Experimentation on modeling inside details of Youngstown doors
Those look great Andy. I am sure they would attract the guys who like to leave a door open with a partial load inside. I know at train shows (when we have them again!) it would be an attention getter.
