FGEX 31183 is from a very camera shy series first built by the C&EI about 1912 that FGE purchased from C&EI's Bankruptcy Trustee at a time when FGE needed to add about 1000 cars quickly in early 1920.

Freight Car Losses due to Wrecks
This morning I was reading the Fruit Growers Express 1921 Annual Report wherein they note that they lost 32 cars due to accidents in 1920, a year in which they were only in business for 8 plus months.
