Stewart hoppers (was Bowser buys Stewart)
I would rather see an AAR alternate standard offset twin come from P2K than from Atlas. But I guess P2K would have a bit more work to do to get there, starting from the War Emergency car. FWIW, the C&

Union Stockyards - Why "Union"?
I always thought it had the same meaning as a "Union Station"-- shared by more than one company. I guess we'll find out if that's right... Scott Pitzer =======

ZU-eave (overhanging) diagonal panel roof
Staffan didn't mention his GN conversion which went the other way, that is, keeping the McKean ends and roof and using Athearn "grain loading box car" sides with new doors (to make the 3000 series.) O

Accurail's 40' Plug-Door Boxcar... Any prototype?
The ends Ed is talking about have dimples at the corners corresponding to the missing darts. They are a 4/4 pattern as he mentioned. One of the two 40' box car books in the Classic Freight Cars series

It's interesting that somebody thinks CBC's belong under DRAMA/PLAYS. Right on the same shelf with "A Freight Car Named Desire" I suppose. Scott Pitzer =======

It's a DC-4 (too short to be a DC-6.) This photo is more proof that all the COOL field trips happened before I was in school! Now quit talking about airplanes! Scott Pitzer =======

B&O Wagon Top Box Cars: Oh, now I get it!
I was reviewing the article in RP Cyc Number 9, and I noticed the varied placement of the billboard initials in the mid-1950s and the 1960s. They seemed to shift left if the car had been rebuilt with

P2k NYC 50' Single Door Box
I thought I was sitting down to an easy project, but... Comparing the P2k model (1959 Century Green) to the NYC Color Guide's photo of a car from Lot 692B (176200-176799), I notice a three-section doo

Interesting CRI&P Gondola
I bought an assembled war emergency gon some years ago, and it had solid sides-- the framing and boards were all cast in a unit. So I guess you have to make sure which version of Ulrich is offered for

Not that it really matters, but the "Gold Line" packages I've seen proclaim "Separate Grab Irons" or words to that effect, and this "Gold Line" model doesn't even have that feature. Scott Pitzer =====

MILW Rib-Side cars
BTW, in that RMJ article the model's end ribs looked quite chunky. I don't suppose that was just a quirk of the photo... (I wish) If not, I guess a purist might use IM 5/5 ends with some extra height

What Front range and CB&T kits have any value
The C&O car is a good one to do from this kit, but they had 9' doors. I think I narrowed an Athearn "Railbox" door for mine, but you can probably do better now in the doors department. And Front Range
