Microscale 87-975 - I think the artwork, or at least the data, was provided by Richard Hendrickson I did this car as an explosives load about 25 years ago... for a defunct club

what brand of pencils did you buy? I don't recall hearing about these before. Fine job on that car! I especially like the tack boards. :-)

Fw: Three dome tank car
It appears to be a non-insulated tank car. Am I right to assume this means the car would be used for vinegar rather than table wine?

Brian Why is that relevant? The IHB cars had W-corner ends for both types of car.

Ben I didn't follow that exactly -- what do you mean by "earlier design" for the 730-B ? The 729-B's were the 10-0 cars The 730-B's were the 10-6 cars You're right the 729 is IMWX/RedCaboose/Branchlin

SSW (Cotton Belt) PS-1 Truck Color
When Kadee began making the PS-1 they often used the wrong brake wheel, running board, and/or trucks because they didn't have them. Now they have more choices, or you can turn to other sources for tho

I think - from photos only - that new SSW freight cars had black trucks in that time period. Even though I have hundreds of images of SSW box cars, I have seen very few builder photos.

Dick by modernized I mean removal of running boards, installation of short ladder(s) and crossover platforms, as prescribed by 1966 AAR rules. often but not always accompanied by repainting.

I think at least one got a steel running board after the STMFC cutoff were any of them ever 'modernized' (1966+) would be my question :-)
