Modeling a Well Used Gon
I saved the last pull off lid from a 3lb (well 39oz) coffee can. It seems to be a relatively tough but thin material that might do well for this purpose and "patch panels" etc. I think they're also on

If you have access to a vinyl cutter, it would be simple enough to create a mask to create the underlayer of lettering. You don't even have to be too exact as to fonts etc as it will be mostly obliter
