Gondola Modeling
MTH did indeed do a Greenville 52’6” gondola with ladders, not grabs. That is my picture of the NYC car on a layout mock-up I had. I was interested because I am building a fleet of P&LE gons, and all

Is it the old Marx/Model Power 10 panel gon? I think it would work for the 10 panel gon. I think B&LE had one or a few. I have a car diagram for an Ex-NSS car in my B&LE set. I am not sure if it is a

Accurail gondola
The P&WV cars had Improved Deadnaught ends as did cars from the W&LE’s 1946 and 1948 orders of essentially the same cars. But I believe the 1945 cars 4500-45499 can be modeled using the Accurail cars

USRA Cabooses
Pittsburgh and West Virginia had wood USRA-style cabooses before they acquired steel cars. Caboose 804 looks like it is. I don't have my resources handy, but I'm thinking at least 804-812 could be USR

Gondola Load: What Is It?
Hi Guy! I just quoted the caption FWIW.. In the caption they mention/implied Weber & Cavanaugh as being whom the settlement was for. I do not know who they were, nor the veracity of the citation. The

Gondola Load: What Is It?
This is an insurance photo for a shifted load at Avella Pa, on the P&WV , on March 27th 1937, per the P&WV Hiline website. There are two gons involved and I would say the shifted loads are most likely

Yes. Union, McKeesport Connecting, and Lake Terminal all did. I have a shot of one of these McKeesport Connecting gons on the WP with a pipe load. Union removed theirs from service around 1950 IIRC, b

Ulrich offset triple hopper prototype
Don Strack has some information on his Utah Rails site. And he gives evidence some twin hoppers from the B&LE were leased and speculates about a possibility of triple hoppers as well. I am remembering

Some did go to Union RR, but I do not know which ones, or when ( or if in list time frame) off the top of my head. Probably not what you are looking for. CJT Broken Arrow

Rather, I meant the drawing is for, at least, a "Greenville" gondola. To be specific, the 13,000-13,999 series has grabs not ladders, but does have a steel floor. Charlie Tapper

70-Ton triple offset side hopper with "Kiesel" sides/ends
Al Kresse's C&O hopper/gondola book shows the 79000 series to be built in 48-49, roller bearing equipped, rounded end, and not alternate standard, but with angle braces (unusual for C&O in general). W

different grades of coal
I'm confident that is generally correct. I think that relates to how the screening process, partly gravity fed, works. The large chunks are going to pass over the screens so I'll bet the coarser sizes
