REA colos

Apparently REA changed their paint scheme in 1952, adding the diamond logo,
at which time the name was taken down off the letterboard and put on the
left of the door, maybe to help balance the scheme. And the switch from
Pullman to the brighter green seems to have been copied in model form, as
per a Laconia ad in the Dec. '55 Model Railroader, which would place it as
late '54.
The general consensus is that the diamond came in bright red and white, but
I've been looking at all the early b&w photos, and the back ground seems to
be the same as the body. Any chance that until the bright green change, the
herald was "gold" with an "open" herald? - John
