Come on! Over $100.00 for resin kit?

skunkskunk2001 <fwj@...>

Well, it's out of production, the casting technology is outdated and
the decals could be better but.... I thought I was fool for bidding a
little over $50.00... Whoever this is, I've noticed his high bidding
before. Hey, Steve (Funaro), how about doing these rebuilds again,
you know the ones you did for Martin way back when with that brittle
yellow resin.

Hmmm, why astonishing? It's a free market, correct?

That was a Sunshine 9.2. If you'd settle for an unfinished 9.1 (T&P 82000
series) I'd let go for 50 bucks.<G>

You sound a little green, maybe because I out bid you on the EJ&E car?

Without resorting to hackneyed phrases, I will point out that Ebay attracts
a lot of bidders who have no idea of the value of items (I saw a brass item
that was "in stock" at Overland for $50, get bid up to $500 on Ebay). Also,
that bidder who paid $100 for one Sunshine kit also got many more for less
than $30. (Check out his auction feedbacks.)

Why complain? If you have been buying Sunshine kits all these years, it's
like money in the bank! :o)

Why does any of this astonish anyone. Ebay is great for anyone who
really wants what is offered.

I have purchased books for (in one case) $1.50, that sold a few weeks
earlier for over $100.00. I have also seen things sell for well over
current value.

I love ebay, you can buy what ever you want for a price that is
acceptable to you, as long as you are willing to wait.

Train set on one item $34.95.
Next item, same train set (no lie) $650.

I can see a limited run resin kit in a larger scale (O, 1:24, 1:32)
pushing $100. Building kits do already.
