Joseph Jacques asked:
"Recently I have obtained F&C kit 6340, B&A 36' DS boxcar with
Reverse Dreadnaught Ends however the kit did not provide a synopsis
of the car history as with other F&C kits that I have purchased in
the past. I have emailed F&C with no response and have been through
the list archives. I am familiar with the 7/7 inverse steel ends for
this car. My question is, are the supplied 'Rev. Dread.' steel ends
valid for this car and when would they have changed to these ends?"
This kit is a model of cars in Boston & Albany 37000-37999 (Lot 298-
B, AC&F) and 38000-38999 (Lot 299-B, Keith) built in 1912.

As you can see from the builder's photo, these cars were originally
built with wood ends. They were later retrofitted with steel ends.
I don't have an exact date that this was done, but the type of
Dreadnaught end used suggests late 1920s-early 1930s:

FWIW, the equipment diagram for B&A 39000-39904 (Lot 312-B, AC&F,
1914) clearly shows a 7/6 Murphy end:
