We tooled a Miner drop handle lever and brake for the Accurail USRA
twin hopper. We got so many complaints about the small part that I
eventually burned it into the body cavity, but the separate dainty
little part is still on the parts sprue, first part from the sprue
bushing.

Detail Associates makes 8-rung ladders for 10'6" cars (DA 6241). Out
of stock at Walthers. Red Caboose also tooled 8-rung ladders for their
10'6" ex-Front Range box cars, part #8700-03, also out of stock at the
manufacturer.

Here is a lever brake from Detail Associates -- I think it was tooled
for modern intermodal cars but it may be adaptable for other uses.

You can shorten a 50' ZU eave roof to make a 40' version. :-) The only
40' versions are made for reefers.

Elden,

Precision Scale has an HO scale Miner Ideal lever handled brake
assembly in their Catalog #3. It says it's for tender/caboose so I'm
not sure it will meet your needs. I've had the catalog for at least
five or six years (maybe more) and the price for this is $2.50 ea.
It's part number HO-3567. I remember reading somewhere last year that
they've moved. Their website is http://www.precisionscaleco.com/

Thanks for any help!

Elden,
Red Caboose makes a Superior brake wheel for the CNWHS sponsored M&StL 37ish
boxcars. They re run the sprue from time to time. I have 8 set aside for when
my Louie cars get back from Rich Remiarz's and Jon Bratt's layouts.(Imagine

Elden,
This hand brake comes in the InterMountain PFE R-40-10 kit. However, be
wary as I've seen a lot of them with substantial amounts of flashing.
You get a "free" extra hand brake of this type when ordering the ART
cars from Amarillo RR Museum, since these kits also include the correct
Universal XL hand brakes used on these cars.
