F&C web page (was F&C kits)

Guys

The problem is not that the F&C web page uses proprietary
features of IE. The problem is the Javascript toc.js file
here -- http://www.funaroandcamerlengo.com/toc.js

For some reason in Firefox and perhaps other browsers (but
not IE) this produces an error

"window.event has no properties"

You can Google for this and you'll get lots of hits. There
may be some difference in Javascript libraries between Java
(Sun) and Microsoft although some web sites say that Firefox
should handle "window.event".

I have a tool called Firebug loaded into my Firefox browser.
Whenever there is a run-time error in the page, I get a little
error symbol in the lower right hand corner of my browser and
if I click on it, it opens up a page that shows me precisely
what is wrong.

But what I usually do is hit the "open page in IE tab" feature
which is also loaded into Firefox, that lets me look at pages
with IE features, without leaving Firefox.

Though an excellent extension (I've used it when I was still running
Windows), it is unfortunately not available for those running Linux. For
Linux users, in this instance, I'd recommend the Dillo browser.

And now I'll shut up on this topic, and go back to modeling. :)

Do what my co-workers do (forced to use Windows for email)
Get VMWare for your Linux and run Windows inside VMWare for
browsers and other Windows apps. Or you can do the reverse
(run Linux inside VMWare on Windows).

Why not just contact F&C to tell them of the problem? After all, it's his problem and he should fix it. - Al Westerfield

Gee Al, why didn't the rest of us think of that?

Want me to drive over and slap him around for you? I'm about 45
minutes to an hour tops east of him...I can be there by midnight if I
leave now!

That¹s hardly necessary, and beside, it can get you banned on this list.

I¹d be satisfied if someone with a lot more web skills than I offered to fix
it for him.

Thanks!

Nah, I was just kidding, in reality, I'd never do such a thing. As
for web skills, count me out too...that one web page I had to do in
college was enough for me...too tedious and boring. My modelling
skills are probably just barely above the level of my web page skills
at this point. If I were to head his way, it would be to try to buy
some kits, especially with the PRR TM8 being an upcoming project on
another group (at least this time I mentioned a steam era FC).
