I assume there rest of the list realized that the link above is to the FIRST of FIFTEEN images.
All worthy of inspection. And BTW, in image 11, is that a multiple-dome tank car, third back
from the locomotive?

Schuyler,

There are a number of very interesting images on the P&WV site. Many include steam era freight
cars. The lead page has anearly a dozen fine images of P&WV freight cars.

After you inspect those, click on the 'Archived Images' link just above the The Dale Elder
Collection title. Ue the scroll down menu to pick a month and you will spend at least an hour
trolling around there.

Schulyer mentioned the tank car and Richard identified it as a sixdomw wine tank car. Here's
the image:

I like the variety in the other cars of this train, plus the weathering difference between the
two locos. This was taken in 1948. While the image isn't the sharpest, it offers great insight
into post war freight hauling trains.

I also mentioned that you can zoom in. With Internet Explorer 7, you can zoom in on your screen
by holding down the CTRL key on the keyboard and pressing the +/= key. Zoom out by holding down
the CTRL key on the keyboard and pressing the _/- key. Here's another fave from the April 2005
page of images.

That's quite the lettering job.

The same zoom in/zoom out with the same keystroke combination works in
Firefox 2 as well.
