I have only one of the 4xxx series cars as those were the last new cars Dick produced; and it coincided with his decision to quit making separate ladders and grabs. So have at it guys -- fill in the PROTOTYPE blanks. 3500 40 6 12 R+3/4r DP - GN 20500-21449 (GN St. Cloud 1952) and 21450-21939 (GN St. Cloud 1953). GN 21450-21939 have a straight sidesill, however. 4500 40 6 12 R+3/4t DP - GN 5000-5449, built GN St. Cloud 1955, needsstraight sidesill; GN 5500-5999, built GN St. Cloud 1957, needs straight sidesill, overhanging "ZU" roof, and lumber door in A end; GN 6000-6499, built GN St. Cloud 1959, needs straight sidesill and overhanging "ZU" roof. Thanks for posting the list, Tim. I have posted what information I have on GN prototypes that can be represented from these kits. GN 6000-6499 have to be among the last 40' general service boxcars built new with 6' doors, if they weren't the last in the US. My source are the photos in Scott Thompson's GN Equipment Color Pictorial, Vol. 1, FWW Publishing, 1995. Mr. Schneider, please take a break from Pullmans and tool those 12 panel 10'6" boxcars Branchline advertised years ago. Thanks. Sincerely, Robert D. Heninger Iowa City, IA
