Erie serviced a bituminius coal mine in Bradford, PA which is about 80
miles south south east of Buffalo, by the NY-PA border.
The coal was described as steam coal which may have been suitable for
steel mills.
I have a couple of steam era photos taken on the Bradford branch
showing Erie, PRR, DL&W, D&H and C&I hopper cars.
Bradford also had oil wells and a refinery and is home to Kendall motor
oil.
