Anyone here have "Sante Fe Open Top Cars by Hendrickson?

I'm looking for pictures of two different ATSF flat cars and I'm wondering (hoping) if this book would be a good purchase. First is the FT-16 articulated flatcar. I've seen pictures with the old tie downs but I'd like to see what the car looked like later with the more modern kingpin hitch. I could also use pictures of FT-Ms, the cars that made the articulated set. Second are the FT-T's 60' flat cars. Primarily the ones converted to tractor loading. If anyone has this book and could let me know I'd greatly appreciate it. Also, if anyone knows of any drawings for any of the above cars, published or in a collection somewhere, that would be great. Folio's aren't bad, but something that shows the stake pocket spacing would be ideal. Thanks, Jason Kliewer Colorado Springs, CO |

For anyone interested in this book, it's available from the SFRH&MS Company Store, Members $44/Non-Members $55: http://www.atsfrr.org/store/bookFrt.htm Scroll towards the bottom of the page. Hi Jason, There are approx 8 photos of Ft-T flats plus some more of the identical Ft-U. There are approx 8 Ft-M and Ft-16 photos as well. The book states that the Ft-M was re-numbered to Ft-16 implying that no charges were made other than the class designation. No plans of either, but one of the Ft-U photos is dead square to the side of the car, so could be photocopied at the appropriate size to provide a side elevation if you want to scratchbuild one. Thanks Dave,
By chance are any of the FT-T flats in the 95588-95599 series? And if so is there a shot of the deck. I'd like to get a deck view of one of the tractor flats to see the hardware for the chain tie downs. Thanks, Jason |
