Future floor finish
Schuyler Larrabee
I’ve had a bottle of this for some time, and I think I have a candidate for using it to obtain a gloss surface for decaling.
I know that using this has been discussed, but if this specific question was addressed, I missed it:
Is it OK to use straight out of the bottle, or should it be thinned down? And if so, with what? Water? |

Schuyler, I would refer you to an internet site called "The complete Future" where various aspects of the product are discussed. Chuck Peck On Sun, Feb 1, 2015 at 11:04 PM, 'Schuyler Larrabee' schuyler.larrabee@... [STMFC] <STMFC@...> wrote:

I have used it straight from the bottle. Never found a need to thin.

Schuyler, I use it straight into my Pasche H single action with a #1 tip around 35psi. I apply several light coats. Too thick and it will run and cause a drip. If it goes on too thick, quickly spray it down with Windex, wash in Dawn dry and start over. I have freight cars and those shiny long things you are supposed to put people in that are over 20 years old and still look good. No yellowing. I wish they would make a flat finish that cheap and good.

I was at a clinic put on by the PSR, Cajon Division this last Saturday, and one member uses PLEDGE Floor Care, Multi Surface / Finish (bottle with Boots on label) to apply decals. He apply's Pledge on car, than puts on decal, and a light coat of Pledge over. Dull coat over to remove gloss. Bob DeMoss SFSCRR I’ve had a bottle of this for some time, and I think I have a candidate for using it to obtain a gloss surface for decaling.

Bob, Pledge Floor Care is the new name Johnson & Johnson now calls “Future”. The name doesn’t matter as long as it is 100% acrylic.
