Richard F. Dermody

Hello folks,

A somber evening here tonight based on a sad occurrence late this afternoon.
Richard F. Dermody who has been a member of this group for some years died
from complications with cancer treatment shortly before 4:00 PM this afternoon
at the age of 74. He leaves his wife Carol and three younger brothers. Dick was
at one time a member of the Boston & Maine R.R. Historical Society, has been
a member of the Rutland R.R. Historical Society for some years but has been
most active in the Central Vermont Rwy. Historical Society  in which he was
currently a board member and had served as editor of the groups publication,
The Ambassador, for several years. He has been a close friend to me personally
for many years as well and an adviser on many New England Rail Service projects
also. He will be greatly missed by those of us who knew him and his love of the
railroads large and small that served northwestern New England.

Rest in peace dear friend, Don Valentine

Very sad to learn of this. I know him as a Central Vermont Railway Historical Society Director and appreciated his knowledge of Ambassador production. Thank you Don for sharing this news.
