Yes, aside from brake gear, there were X29D that had: a) all high tackboards; b) a mix of high tack boards on ends and low ones on the doors, and c) all low tack boards. The latter two were during the period where they were changing over from high to low, and some got a mix. There were also X29D in dedicated service that had racks, and rivets through the side sheets where they were attached. I have never seen any evidence of any other detail differences, but you never know. This was the Pennsy!
