B&O flatcar decals
After Tim O’Connor sent me a photo off list I confirmed the IM B&O bulkhead flat needs backdated lettering for my era. Does anyone know a source for B&O flat car decals? I need the “Linking 13 great states with the Nation” small enough for a flat. I wonder if an Nscale boxcar herald would work?

Brian maybe these could be adapted: http://speedwitchmedia.com/product/d176-baltimore-ohio-p-11-flat-cars/

Hmm, They might. I located a supply for the car in question, but I imagine the herald in Ted’s set would be the right size.
I figure I should post a link to the car in question. https://www.intermountain-railway.com/ho/html/48753.htm

Bill, those are perfect! I didn't think anyone made the pre-1962 B&O capitol dome in a flat car size! Hooray for Ted! :-) Tim O'Connor Brian maybe these could be adapted: http://speedwitchmedia.com/product/d176-baltimore-ohio-p-11-flat-cars/ |

Brian,
Protowest made a resin kit for these B&O flatcars [ Bacjk then that was how you got one in styrene] that kit included decal sets. The B&OHS assisted in the kits development so the decals are accurate. https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/protowest-ho-scale-kit-o-70-ton-53-470014468 Below is a link to the B&O Modeler that had an article on assembling these models by Elden Gatwood. https://ia801303.us.archive.org/6/items/BO_Modeler_V3-N5_2007_SepOct/BO_Modeler_V3-N5_2007_SepOct.pdf The B&O HS sold decals separately for a while, but I believe they are sold out. They still may pop up on eBay sometimes. You might try asking on the B&O Yahoo Group if anyone has a set to spare. Regards, Bob Witt |

I had trouble viewing the image, but after I resolved that problem I agree with Tim. Yes, the Speedwitch B&O flat car set should work very well indeed.
Brian, what is your period? The B&O began converting the P-25 to bulkhead car in 1954-1955 with the first group of 83 cars. Regards, Bob |

So, Bob, am I to infer that the P-25s were simple flats before 1954?

Also, Bob - can you tell us about the P-32 flat cars? They are also 70 ton flats and I have a number of photos of them. Are they basically the same AAR design as the P-25 flats? Thanks! I may just go ahead and make a separate decal set to cover these flats. By the way, the printing by Cartograf perfectly captures all the details of the 12" Capitol Dome emblem. Cheers, Ted Ted Culotta Speedwitch Media |
