a sad modeling milestone
I finally ran out of Champ decal setting solution. I am heartbroken. I just love that stuff. :'( Tim O'Connor

I still have a little bit left, don't know what I will do when I run out. Although somebody gave me three bottles of Testors Decal Setting solution and I did use it once and it seemed to work fine. Rick Jesionowski

I’ve used the Testors solution and it seemed to do what it needed to do. I’ve not used it on Champ decals, however, just on Ted Culotta’s decals.

There are probably a number of fluids that work with (1) some decals and (2) some paint finishes. Since there are so many different kinds of decals and paints now, there's probably not a solution that applies in every case. For example I am decaling a car now that I painted with Accupaint and I'm using Microscale decals, and when I used a combination of MicroSet, MicroSol and Solvaset, I got some 'water spots' on the paint finish - I'm guessing it went after the paint. For the other side of the car I didn't use any of the MicroSet, and ... no spots! Tim O'Connor
