B&LE 82000 series box cars
Clark Propst
Anyone have or know of any photos of a B&LE 82000 series box car? Supposed to be a double sheathed 100K ton car off their roster in late 1940 early 1941. 25 became M&StL 50300 series. A photo of one of those would be even better ; ))
Thanks much for any help! CW Propst

I think you mean a 100,000 lb. capacity car at 50 tons for a double sheathed box car of the early 1940's, not a car having a 100 ton (200,000 lbs.) capacity.

82001 may be one of the cars Clark is seeking. The cars the MSTL acquired in 1941 were built in 1913 as double sheathed wood cars with fish belly underframes. They are reported to have “Mogul” ends.
