Possibly hacked website?
irv_thomae
While browsing through some old discussion threads on this forum, I tried to click on links to www DOT steamfreightcars DOT com SLASH prototype [etc]. I've deliberately expanded that to make it more difficult to click on without first reading the following report:
When I clicked on that link, antivirus protections in my browser warned me in bright red that it would be "dangerous to go there." The address that it was warning me about looked nothing at all like the link I had tried to follow, so - as a retired internet security researcher - I suspect that "steamfreightcars DOT com" has been hijacked or infected with some very serious malware plague.
As I recall, I had previously visited the same site without any trouble as recently as mid-December.

Yes, the site address changed sometime before 2010. A Google search would have led you to the correct site, too.

Ah, that's the problem. FWIW the incorrectly shortened link showed up in threads dating from 2005, at which time it was probably an entirely harmless error.
Now I'd better find some better eyeglass cleaner... <g>
Thanks!
