2021 Red River Prototype Modelers Meet

Fellow Modelers:

Our group, the Texas Railway Modeling and Historical Society, is hosting our inaugural Red River Prototype Modelers Meet here in the D/FW metroplex. This meet will be held at the Forest Hill Civic Center on June 26, 2021 from 9 am to 6 pm. This is on the east side of Ft Worth along I-20.

The lack of an RPM here in the Lonestar State has been a major gap in our prototype modeling community and we hope to correct that. Last year would have been our inaugural year but Covid altered those plans for us. So, 2021 will now be our inaugural event. We selected the month of June to avoid conflicts with other RPM's such as Benton, St. Louis, and Naperville. Those are all wonderful RPM's and we hope to build something worthy of this community here in Texas.

I'll have models on display along with hosting the event. What exists of my 1963 Twin Star Rocket will be on display as well as portions of my Dallas Union Terminal module complex to include the Triple Underpass, Tower 106, and the Trinity River wye leg trestle.

Thanks Michael. We've been very surprised and pleased with the response so far. Our goal is to host a quality event that does justice to the RPM community.

Jacob,

Good to see the web site up and glad to hear of a positive reception.  I can remember tossing around the idea with Ryan Harris on more than one occasion over the past several years. Glad others have the "bandwidth" to get this off the ground.  One tremendous benefit to tout is D/FW is readily accessible by plane from just about anywhere.

Hoping to attend,

Jeff:

Ryan, Kevin Leddy, and myself can all be 'blamed' for this. We were discussing RPM's back in 2019 and one of us said 'we wish some of these were closer' and then the next comment was 'why not here?' And, here we are! The response so far has been very good and supportive and we're really excited about the potential of this. Hopefully we'll see you in June.
