Yankee Clipper Erie ARA 1932 kit

"I'm working on a Erie ARA 32 box car with Hutchins ends with no instructions. The only photo I have is of a 75000 series car with what appears to be 3 'innie' pressing per end panel. The kit has a Viking roof and '3 outie' pressings per panel. I would like a photo of one of these cars or at least a reference to one (I have RPCyc's, RMC Essentials) and most of the RMJs [except some of the last years]) The reason I ask is because the ladder rung spacing in the photo I have is way different than the Tichy ladders provided."

Erie 1932 ARA boxcars were in the 76500-76999 series and had Buckeye ends and Viking roof.  Builders' photos posted at George Elwood's website here:

Hi Clark & Group!!

Your kit description appears to match the Yankee Clipper Kit No. 1932-120 for ERIE 76500-76999 of which I have one.  The ends are Buckeye which the ERIE seemed to have a favoring for back in the early 1930s.  I can send you the instructions if someone does not beat me to it.  Interestingly, Sunshine Kit No. 21.11 is also for this same prototype.  The same dark builder photos appear in both kit instructions and challenge the eye to count the seven rungs on the side and end ladders.  I have no other photos but I suspect there are some in the ELRHS publication but I will not be able to look soon for the helpful issues.  Your modeling era allows for both the original small diamond and the large six foot ERIE diamond that appeared in 1947.

What more do you need?

Regards----Mike Schleigh in Grove City, Penna.
