What would be idea, to my mind, is an end without a ladder or brake equipment or grab irons. The three mentioned, two of which I was not aware of and which I appreciate being told about, are essentially “make do” solutions.

The Walthers 50' SS DD box has 3/3/3 ends: comes with two, and an end door.

Richard, Not the best source, but Tyco 50' plug door boxcars have a 3/3/3 end. These are easy to find at train shows because there were tens of thousands of them. Get two, and use only the A ends to minimize carving away cast details. All- Probably the highlighting added was so the section of fence would show up when printed in a newspaper. The real alteration was likely in the facts…the fence section looks to be about 10 feet long and it probably was a switching miscalculation rather than a “180 car train” careening into an industrial siding… The streetcar tracks must have paralleled the siding as there is no evidence of one crossing the end of the of the building. Looks like a fairly well maintained car. How long did these last?
Neat to see the PTC line trucks waiting to restore the trolley wire. (Philadelphia Transit Commission.) Bob Allan |

Weird !! If you look closely the photo appears to have been altered - look at the piece of fence and the coupler. Tim O'Connor On 7/7/2021 10:03 AM, Claus Schlund \(HGM\) wrote:

That reminds me: we need a source for 3/3/3 ends. If I knew how I’d design one myself for 3D printing.
