Suggestions for sill steps & car puller loops
Dean Payne
Des Plaines Hobbies also made some double sill steps, of the side-mount design (I already had bottom-mount design, from... Tichy or DA).They were out of stock for years, so I bought enough for my needs.

These double-rung sill steps were tooled by Accurail when they released the 36-foot Fowler box cars. Newer releases of their other 36-door box cars also include them. Here’s a photo of the parts. These are made to snap into place on Accurail underframes but I suspect they can be adapted. Eric Hansmann Murfreesboro, TN On Apr 10, 2022, at 4:38 PM, akerboomk <ken-akerboom@...> wrote:

Ken,
You might be able to use, with slight modifcation, YMW sill steps for the Tangent tank car: http://www.yarmouthmodelworks.com/index.php/ModelDetailParts/Stirrups Also, if my memory is correct, I think Pierre was also working on a sill step with the "extra" step. Jim Brewer |

I'm working on modeling the B&M 5100 series depressed center flats (HO scale):
https://www.bmrrhs.org/flat_5100_series/#PHOTOS The NMRA archives photo and B&MRRHS "flickr" ones are probably the best for seeing what I'm talking about. Looking for suggestions on the sill steps and car puller loops (staples?)... Using the old ECW kit. sill steps have 2 steps and look like they are wrapped over the bottom flange on car side Any thoughts? -- Ken Akerboom |
