Roof weathering

I’d posted a photo of the weathered roof on the FB resin builder group and RJ Dial commented he liked it.  Here’s a  visual of the technique.

I just use three water based oils, white, black and blue and mix with paint thinner in a plastic lid.  Second from the bottom shows the applied color.  Let dry for a few days and then go over with black Panpastel.

Hi Charlie- That looks great. What kind of paint thinner are you using? Les Sittler

Is that color change at the transition from the applied "galvanized" paint to the body color coming from the pan pastel?

No, there’s no PanPastel on that car; it’s just the oils painted on top the BCR.  It’s been a while since I did that car but I may have used a darker gray in a few spots or the thinner, as the paint dried, caused the darker outlines.
