New Heavy Duty Depressed Center Flatcar

Did you happen to notice the material for these new cars? (Don’t see it on their website)

Over the years I’ve had various heavy duty flats and depressed center flats and have never had much luck getting flats with double trucks or six wheel trucks to properly track. Haven’t tweaked them enough, perhaps, but I think an all metal body with all metal trucks is the best bet for these challenging cars.

Thanks for sharing

New Heavy Duty Depressed Center Flatcar

At the NMRA’s National Train Show this week, ClassOneModelWorks.com announced an HO scale depressed center heavy duty flatcar. This is the General Steel Castings car first introduced in the early 1950s and still in service into the 2000s. The upper deck will be offered in two configurations. In addition, ClassOneModelWorks.com will separately produce various loads appropriate for this car.

Look for this car sometime next spring.

I have no financial connection to the firm, although I am friends with Steve Priest, one of the owners.
